Dermalogica Treatment Foundation Colours

In response to several requests by our customers we have composed a Dermalogica Treatment Foundation Colour Chart.

Dermalogica Treatment Foundations come in 8 colours from 1 (lightest) to 5 (darkest). There are also 3 other colours (1G, 2G, 3G) that have a more Golden tone.

It is very difficult to convey the colours on the Internet due to the difference in technologies and we would therefore always recommend trying samples first to enable you to gauge which colour best matches your skin colour. Dermalogica only produce samples for colours 1, 1G, 2 and 2G although this will give you an adequate estimate of the degrees of darkness as you move to the higher numbered tones.

Dermalogica Treatment Foundations are suitable for all skin types and are designed to be used over your prescribed Dermalogica Moisturiser.

Skin Care Problems: Rosacea

Rosacea

If you think you might be suffering from Rosacea the signs and symptoms you should look out for are:

• redness on the cheeks, nose and forehead
• red broken veins
• red lumps and bumps
• general sensitivity

If you are suffering with any of the above signs and symptoms and think it could be Rosacea you should get a proper diagnosis from your doctor. Medication can be prescribed to help the condition and to prevent it from becoming worse. Unfortunately there is no known cure for Rosacea nor is there any known cause, but we can certainly help treat and keep the problem to a minimum with medication and the right use of skin care products.

Rosacea is more common in women over the age of 30 who are fair skinned and tend to blush or flush easily. Men do suffer with Rosacea and tend to have more severe symptoms.

Dermalogica have some very effective products to help to generally sooth, calm, reduce redness, desensitise and strengthen the skin which will help with the symptoms. It is important to use products that do not contain any irritating, aggravating, or harsh ingredients. We understand that a lot of the time we are busy processing your orders, and we may not be able to take your call personally, but it is always possible to leave voice mail message. We promise you that we always call our customers back - always. Even when a customer has subsequently emailed us and their query has been resolved we have still called them back.

One of the quickest way is to email us a shop@pure-beauty.co.uk. We will answer as soon as possible and maybe call you on the phone if we feel that a chat would be better. That's why it is always important you register a telephone number with us.

We implemented a Live Chat service over 12 months ago which will enable you to get the answer to your question immediately. If we are not online at the time then simply send us an email with the form provided.

Skin Care Problems : Open or Enlarged Pores

Open or Enlarged Pores

The Pores in our skin are follicles which may or may not contain a hair, through which natural sebum (skins natural oil secretion) flows. The amount of sebum which flows out of the follicle will depend on its size. When there is excessive sebum within the Sebaceous gland (which produces the sebum) it may swell and the follicle will become enlarged. Some follicles are naturally larger but this is due to your genetic make up.

The follicle can become blocked due to a build up of sebum, dead skin cells and bacteria which over time will cause an impacted sticky plug which we call a comedone (blackhead). The comedone will also cause the follicle to become enlarged. Once a comedone has developed the only way to remove it from the follicle is to perform an extraction.

The best treatment for enlarged pores and comedones is prevention, by always thoroughly cleansing and regular exfoliation. By doing this you will be enabling the follicle to function normally by preventing a build up of dead skin cells, sebum and bacteria.
